“No, I completely forgot the white rules,” Jabeur said in her post-match press conference. “When you go into a match court, you just dress up as normal clothes,” she explained.
“For me, I completely forget that today I was warming up on Centre Court, it has to be all white. Yeah, I don’t know, it was just an honest mistake.”
Last year, Wimbledon changed their dress code to allow female players to wear coloured underwear following criticism from some of the biggest names in the game, but regulations have not been relaxed enough for the likes of Jabeur and McEnroe to decide against wearing all-white outfits at the tournament.
