could be set to wave goodbye to another one of his players over the next few days, with clubs in Saudi Arabia reportedly plotting a raid on the Red Devils this summer. United have already improved their squad with the signings of Mason Mount and Andre Onana but are widely expected to sell a number of their existing stars as Ten Hag looks to trim his squad in advance of the new campaign.

United are seemingly set to lose Alex Telles to the Saudi Pro League, with the 30-year-old said to be close to joining Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after falling out of favour at Old Trafford. Telles spent last season on loan at Sevilla and is thought to be regarded as a must-sell by United, with his contract set to expire next summer as things stand.

It seems as though Eric Bailly could be in line to follow Telles to Saudi Arabia in the not-too-distant future, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that there has been ‘tentative interest’ from clubs in the region as of late. It is said that Ten Hag is not including Bailly in his plans for the campaign ahead, meaning that United are open to selling the defender before the summer window slams shut.

Bailly last played for the Red Devils towards the end of 2021 and, like Telles, will be out of contract at the end of next season and is not expected to sign a new deal before then. Both players were given permission not to report back with the rest of their United team-mates after returning from international duty, which speaks volumes about their fading prospects at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

He is also thought to have emerged as a potential target for Fulham and Al-Ettifaq, although Al-Nassr are the only club to have approached him over a possible move thus far, according to Fabrizio Romano. Bailly is set to make a final decision on where his future lies over the next few weeks, which suggests that staying at United will not be among the options available to him this summer.

It seems as though the writing has been on the wall for Bailly for quite some time, with the Ivory Coast international spending the previous campaign on loan at Marseille before the French outfit decided against making his stay permanent earlier this year. He is also no stranger to criticising the Red Devils after insisting back in September that English players were being given preferential treatment at the club.

“The club should avoid favouring English players and give everyone a chance,” said Bailly. “[The club should] encourage competition in the dressing room, not just look out for some. I’ve always had the feeling that the national player was prioritised. That doesn’t happen at Chelsea or other big Premier League clubs.”

United, meanwhile, are said to be juggling several offers for some of their players this summer, with the likes of Anthony Elanga, Dean Henderson and Harry Maguire among the candidates to join Telles and Bailly in leaving the club. Elanga and Henderson are thought to be admired by Nottingham Forest, who are expected to try and sign them both on permanent deals before the Premier League resumes next month.

Maguire could also depart the Red Devils after slipping down the pecking order and is said to be a target for West Ham, with the Irons having already reached out to United over the possibility of signing the England defender. There is also believed to be fresh uncertainty over Fred’s long-term future following the recent signing of Mount, who is widely expected to start in midfield next season alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.
